Membership is required to attend training sessions, club trips, stand for election to a committee role and vote at the AGM. The committee aim is to set the membership fee as low as possible to achieve the club aims of maximising participation whilst covering the running costs of the club and maintaining a range of equipment for members to use.
Membership fees are due by 1st October each year, or after attending three club sessions.
Reduction in membership fees for people joining after river sessions begin in the Summer of each year.

Juniors are under 18 on the 1st October in each membership year.
Family membership includes up to two adults and two juniors at the same address.
A 50% reduction in membership fee will be applied for new members joining in the summer (when training night is on river).
BCU members are entitled to a £1 reduction in membership fee

- £5.00 (Non-Member)
Non members may attend up to 3 pool or river sessions before being required to join the club
- £1.50 Club boat, BA, spray deck etc for one training session
- £5.00 Club boat etc per day used, and for everyday boat return is overdue.
No charge for equipment on weekend trips where accommodation is paid for.

The beginners course charge includes club membership up to the 1st October, pool fees (if appropriate) and equipment hire for the six coached sessions on the course, as well as a flat water river training session and an introduction to white water.
After the end of the course pool fees and equipment charges will be payable.
Those starting the beginners course in the summer (when club training night is on the river) will be entitled to a 50% reduction in the membership fee in the following membership year.
