Membership Costs

Membership is required to attend training sessions, club trips, stand for election to a committee role and vote at the AGM. The committee aim is to set the membership fee as low as possible to achieve the club aims of maximising participation whilst covering the running costs of the club and maintaining a range of equipment for members to use.

Membership Year

The membership year currently runs from 1 Oct - 30 Sep, however in 2026 this is changing so the year runs from 1 April.

There will a transition 'year' of 6 months from 1st Oct 2025 to 31 March 2026.  The fee will be £25.

Membership fees are due at the start of the year, or after being accepted to join the club.

There is a 50% reduction in membership fees for people joining after we return to the pool in the Autumn of each year.

Guest Sesssions

  • YCC members may bring a guest to a pool or river session with prior agreement of the committee.
  • The guest should be a competent paddler and is the responsibility of the member.
  • YCC members take priority in pool sessions, as such a place at the pool cannot be guaranteed.
  • The YCC committee may refuse guest sessions if the pool is consistently at capacity, a beginner’s course is running or a member requests too many sessions.
  • Guest sessions would normally be a one off.
